My Inspiration
My mother, Maryann, is the driving force behind my passion for educating women about personal finance. Growing up in the Bronx, Maryann was raised to be a homemaker and to let her husband focus on earning and managing the money. When she needed to leave him, and found that he had locked her out of the only bank account they had, she was forced to learn how to manage the money for the household on her own.
Resilient and determined with four children, Maryann moved to a new city and rebuilt our family’s life from scratch. She juggled multiple jobs to create a new future for our family. Her experience has profoundly influenced me and instilled in me the importance of taking responsibility for managing my money at every stage of life.
My Experience
Before starting Personal Finance Warrior, I worked as a Portfolio Strategist at Fidelity Investments. I guided top financial advisors across the country on enhancing their portfolios and led investment workshops for clients. I especially enjoy delivering live workshops and engaging directly with audiences!
Previously, I was a trained Financial Advisor at Citi (now Morgan Stanley), which gave me a deep understanding of the financial advisor industry. My career also includes roles at JPMorgan and State Street Global Advisors. I hold an undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies from Harvard University and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Personally, my joy is traveling, and I have pursued various international experiences to learn about people and cultures all over the world. I have visited 53 countries and have lived in several cities including London, Sydney, San Francisco, Shanghai, Chicago, Bangalore, Hong Kong, Boston and Los Angeles. I consider myself a global citizen and look forward to connecting with you wherever you live in the world!
